China Folk House was delighted to host a talk by Patrick Lozada on the long and fascinating history of Quakers in China!

Patrick Lozada is an international government relations professional and a member of the Friends Meeting of Washington in DC. He spent seven years in China between 1997–2018 and has been teaching a course titled “200 Years of Quaker Engagement with China” at Friends General Conference since 2016.

He currently serves as the Senior Director of Global Policy at the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), where he advocates for trade policies that support an innovative American electroindustry. He served previously as the Director of Global Policy at the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), where he led the group’s work on international trade issues. Prior to joining TIA, Patrick was a Director in the China Practice of Albright Stonebridge Group and managed business advisory services in the Shanghai office of the US China Business Council.

Patrick holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Haverford College, an M.A. from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), and a certificate in Chinese studies from the Hopkins–Nanjing Center at Nanjing University.
