The China Folk House works closely with schools, universities, and other organizations to create meaningful learning experiences. Community groups and private groups are also welcome to visit and rent our spaces for private events. Information regarding the activities we offer, the available accommodations on our site, and the associated pricing is provided below.

Activities
We offer several basic areas of programming at our site:
1. House-centered activities such as tours of the house and gardens, and scavenger hunts centered on art and symbolism found in and around the house can be arranged. For school groups, we have also worked with students to do mini research projects on physical objects of material culture in the house, presenting those short projects through our online database and virtual museum.
2. Traditional Chinese crafts related to the house and its ethnic communities in China can be arranged such as woodblock and lino printmaking, paper cutting, landscape painting, cooking, or gardening. For extended stays more intensive hands on activities can be offered such as indigo tie dye, embroidery, basket weaving, or traditional building practices. All program offerings are dependent on time and instructor availability. These activities require an additional traditional craft activity fee and require a minimum of group of 8 people.
3. Fun outdoor activities such as hiking or nature walks with a local naturalist can be arranged. For overnight trips we can arrange campfires with s’mores and courtyard movies.
Facilities & Accommodations
With 3 bunkhouses and 4 large tents each accommodating 6-8 visitors, we can host up to 44 overnight visitors at a time. Additional nearby lodging options are available for larger groups.
We have a dedicated commercial kitchen and professional cooking staff who can prepare meals for large groups including but not limited to Chinese noodles and Mongolian barbeque. We can work with you to best accommodate the dietary needs of students and visitors. Contact us directly for Mongolian barbeque pricing.
The on-site bathhouse is equipped with 4 toilets and 4 showers.

Admission and Tour: $20/person
Traditional Craft Activity Fee: $30/person (8 person minimum)
Meal Fee: $20/person for each meal
Overnight Boarding Fee: $30/person for each night
Note: We are willing to work with groups on pricing to ensure every student has the opportunity to benefit from visiting us!
Directions
Before you arrive please review the following document. Staying on mission road requires you to turn left onto the gravel road from the paved road, make sure you do not miss this turn. If you miss this turn DO NOT turn onto patriots way as it is unpassable for most cars. We strongly advise you DO NOT use Apple Maps or Waze as they may take you this way automatically.
